For many years, Marina has been involved with the animal welfare organization Fundus Antalya in Turkey. During one of her trips there, she discovered a puppy in a cardboard box, simply discarded and extremely weak. She cared for the young Kangal mix, named him Fundus, and six months later gave him a new home in Apolda, Thuringia, where Marina lives. They get along perfectly at home now, but woe betide anyone who goes for a walk outside. Then Marina can't contain him. Fundus now weighs 53 kilos and pulls hard on the leash, especially when other dogs come into view. In such situations, Marina doesn't know what else to do but find the nearest lamppost and tie her strong dog to it. But the petite woman from Thuringia knows: This can't go on. That's why she's seeking help from Martin Rütter's trainer, Franziska Herre.

The little mixed-breed dog Elli didn't have an easy start in life. Raised by an animal hoarder in an old warehouse, she ended up in an animal shelter before being adopted by Marion and her daughter Lisa. But in her new home, Elli quickly turned out to be a bit of a surprise. One of her many quirks is particularly challenging for Marion: as soon as they go outside, the little dog goes on strike. After just a few meters, she lies down on the ground and refuses to move another step. All Marion longs for is to take Elli hiking in the mountains. Or even just to go for a spontaneous walk in the nearest park. Just like other dog owners do. But with Elli, all of that is unthinkable. For this reason, Marion contacts a dog expert, who decides to send his trainer, Steffi Krauß, to help.
