When Every Second Counts: Hamburg Area of Operation: A Hundred-Year-Old Falls While Playing Table Tennis
The Sat.1 reality documentary “Lebensretter hautnah - Wenn jede Sekunde zählt” accompanies teams of rescue workers in various German cities on their nerve-wracking missions. With the help of special camera technology, drivers of emergency vehicles and rescue helicopter pilots are also followed up close during air missions.
Every second can truly count. When emergency responders are on the move to save lives, time is a crucial factor. The documentary series "Lifesavers Up Close" portrays emergency responders in real-life situations across Germany. Using specialized camera techniques, the series shows rescue helicopter pilots as well as drivers of emergency vehicles on the ground. For these lifesavers, every mission is different. Victims of stabbings must be rushed to the hospital, and resuscitation of heart attack patients may also be necessary. No matter where an emergency occurs, the emergency responders are on their way to help.
