Delicious in the countryside during Advent
Catharina Lichtmannegger's mountain farm is located in the Berchtesgaden Alps. Her great passion is horses. A few years ago, she and her husband Sebastian bought a farm near Berchtesgaden. Since then, the trained physiotherapist for horses and dogs has lived there with her family. Every day, geese, chickens, horses, dogs and especially the zebu herd, an Asian breed of cattle, have to be taken care of. Catharina's Christmas menu consists of home-caught fish from the neighbouring village: first there is tartar of char with homemade bread. For the main course, she serves char in a porcini mushroom coating with potato and chestnut puree and carrot and leek vegetables. For dessert, there is traditional cane noodles with apple hollerkoch, served with elderberry sorbet. In addition to the farm visit, Catherina invites them to take the cable car up the Obersalzberg for a toboggan ride. Together the countrywomen toboggan down into the valley. For Catherina, the countrywomen from Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg are on their way in a very special vehicle - in imperial weather, the country ladies are driven through the winter landscape in a horse-drawn sleigh.
