Switzerland's dream rail routes - In the Goldenpass Belle Époque from Montreux to the Bernese Oberland
The historic "Goldenpass Belle Époque", a replica of the "Golden Mountain Pullman Express" of the 1930s, is a train in a class of its own. It offers nostalgia, luxury and adventure at the same time.
Twice a day, it travels from the palm-fringed shore in Montreux to Zweisimmen in the Bernese Oberland. To do so, it winds through the vineyards of picturesque Lavaux + also passes the historic workshops of the Montreux-Berner Oberland Railway in Chernex.
Trains like the "Goldenpass Belle Époque" bring hundreds of thousands of passengers safely and quickly to the remotest corners of Switzerland every day. In lavish landscape images, the film portrays a train in a class of its own + tells of people who work + live along its route.
