At home in happiness - Our move into a new life Benjamin and Nadine
Benjamin (32) and Nadine (29) meet through a work colleague and their friendship soon turns into love. In March 2007, the two marry at a castle. Benjamin is overjoyed to finally be able to call Nadine - who is already heavily pregnant at the time - his wife. Their love is crowned two months later with the birth of their first child, Leon. In 2012, Benjamin and Nadine buy a house for their little family, with Nadine's mother moving into the top floor. But even before they move in, everything changes. Nadine's mother dies suddenly and unexpectedly from cancer. At the same time, they discover that Nadine is pregnant with their second child. Despite the grief for her mother, the joy is great. But the next stroke of fate is not long in coming
The pregnancy was not without complications and little Kate was born far too early. She was born in January 2015, in the 29th week of pregnancy, weighing just 800 grams. Shortly after Kate's birth, Nadine suffers a severe stroke in which part of the right side of her brain dies off. The 29-year-old is also completely paralyzed + cannot speak. Since then, Benjamin has been shuttling back and forth between the children's intensive care unit where his daughter is staying + the intensive care unit where his wife is. He also looks after little Leon (8), who misses his mother very much. It is unthinkable that Benjamin could change anything about the state of the house in the current situation. Friends of the family try to help where they can. But there's not enough to go around.
Kate's room is still unfinished, the master bedroom and the living room are only provisionally furnished. There is no real place to retreat to. Friends and family very much hope that Nadine and Kate will soon return to a comfortable home. The "Zuhause im Glück" team wants to help the family with this.
