Since 2006, the docu-soap has accompanied Germans as they prepare for and carry out their emigration. The VOX camera team is also there when they make a new start in a foreign country and get to know new neighbours, customs and traditions. Of course, the often difficult parting from the old home country, problems with the authorities and emotional homesickness scenes are also documented. Protagonists from earlier programmes are later revisited to show how they have fared since the move. Some of them now even have celebrity status and - see Daniela Katzenberger or Konny Reimann - their own TV series.
