When children are abused, the perpetrators often come from their own family or circle of acquaintances. Many victims only find the strength to report their tormentors decades later. By then, some crimes are already time-barred. But under the Victims Compensation Act, victims are entitled to state support if they have suffered damage to their health as a result of the acts of violence. JUSTICE reports on three people who were abused in childhood and are fighting for their rights.
