Alaska: The northernmost state of the USA still magically attracts adventurers and fortune seekers. Diane Tillian searches and finds her luck on a lonely island. She has been painting pictures with squid ink for decades. She lives with her family in Halibut Cove, a tiny cove in Kachemak Bay. In the middle of the Kenai River, Fishguide Joe has to contend with some very special competition: bears. There are salmon and trout in abundance in the river. The bears know that, too.
