On January 13, starting at 8:15 p.m. on RTL, the stern TV special "Wie wohnt Deutschland?" (How does Germany live?) with host Steffen Hallaschka does the big apartment check live + takes a look inside the sacred four walls of the Federal Republic.
In the city or in the country? Renting or owning your own home? We want to know: How do Germans actually live? And explicitly: How do you, our viewers, live?
Because when it comes to living, there are huge differences in Germany. In major cities like Berlin, Munich and Hamburg, rents have exploded and affordable housing is becoming increasingly hard to find. On the other hand, structurally weak regions are suffering from rural exodus, houses are standing empty, villages are dying. And more and more people are realizing their dream of "living differently" with unusual living ideas.
