the north reportage Wau! - said the sheep - guard dog in big family
Born as a bodyguard. If Pyrenean mountain dog King Kong knew that, he might go on the rampage. At 900 grams, the little lump weighs more than average for a guard dog at birth. Which promptly earns him his name. The life for the herding dog puppy begins with mother's milk and nursery in the midst of the sheep herd. At some point he is supposed to protect them from wolves. In the Pyrenees tradition, in Germany quite new, since the wolf is also back here. Fences alone are no longer enough to protect the flocks, and the so-called "wolf pressure" is increasing. Some shepherds are upgrading, buying guard dogs for a lot of money, others don't think anything of it. Even more financial burden, even more to do! And when the dogs are old? Where to put them when you need new ones all the time? Shepherd Thomas Seemann was one of the first in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to rely on Pyrenean mountain dogs. He hopes that the additional costs will soon be covered here as well, as in Brandenburg. But until then, he must console himself: with fluffy 900 grams, his "plush dog" King Kong and his sister Klaudia, from the K litter in the Recknitztal stable. The K stands for the eleventh litter and prescribes the first letter of the dog's name. Will shepherd Seemann ever give up his bundle of joy again?
