Whether as a million-dollar work of art on the wall or as a symbol of German reunification, few fruits have as many stories to tell. On Madeira, the Fernandes family runs their organic plantation and conjures up traditional dishes from the fruit. Presenter Lucie explores the many different uses: she makes vegan bacon from banana peels and prepares hearty plantains with chilli. Surprising fun fact: botanically speaking, the banana is a berry.
